Please help me get into the program or get my money back.

    Please help me get into the program or get my money back.

    Dore consultant visit me on 10/5/2008. I had booked for an assessment for my son & daughter. Paid the fee but didn't even have a change to go throught the assessment as we found out on the assessment day that that it's close when we're there. Why did Dore accept my payment & booking for an assessment when few days later, it's close? The staff even ring me for setting the date for assessment. I can not even get through the online program as I didn't even have a PID nor medical/assessment record in the system as we never gone through the assessment. Can I get back my money ? how long is the wait ? Please advice. As a single mum & had difficulty with with my kids learning ability, I tighten my belt to help them for their future. Please help !

    Hello Ming Chua and welcome. If you are in england and paid by credit card you will be able to reclaim the money through the credit card company.

    I know a new company has been set up by Dore and they are going back and seeing clients free of charge. I'm not sure about clients just about to have an assessment. Hopefully they will cover that. Try e-mailing them.

    Thanks Claire,

    I'm in Australia & I paid them in cheque of which it was cash out before my assessment & just about time of the closure. No one inform me about the closure until the day when we're in the office for the assessment.

    Do you know the email address of 'Dore Australia' where I can contact with ? Thanks !

    Good luck with emailing them, they don't respond to me!  

    I am in the UK in a similar situation.  I am down £500 with no appointment. I booked the appointment within days of them closing..

     How can they do this to people who need the money, love their kids and simply want to help them!   It seems to me that they must have known they were about to go before they took my booking and my money.  So now I have no help and no money!   I just want my money back so that I can go elsewhere for help before it is too late for my son!

     incidentally there is nothing on their website that says they are closed at the moment. Surely they aren't still taking peoples money for non-existant appointments?!

    It sounds like that the closure incident not only happen in Australia. & you're just in the shoe as I am in UK. Your might be right, before a company will be close, they had all the application at least 6 months before its closure. In my case, the company pretty sure of what they are doing but still accepts appointment & payments. It sounds a bit..... Hope that they are genuin in their aim to help all these kids with problem. & we can get some help for our kids. Ifever it’s the end of the company, they can either redirect us to some other form of help or hand our money back. Worst of all, at least give us some exercises & instruments (as to what they said) that we can help our kids with some sort of instructions. At least have something to help our kids.

     Dore Australia was illegally trading as insolvent from Jan 08, Wynford was warned about this and had a legal duty to prevent it.

    You aren't going to get money back either in Australia or the UK from DORE itself, as the companies you had a contract with no longer exist. The blogs above have some advice on how to get money back from other sources (credit cards, Govt schemes, etc) - try Podblack for Australia and Brainduck (mine) for the UK. However, you should also contact the administrators Woodgate in Australia, Kroll in the UK. Woodgate in particular has a very interesting report (no longer online but I will email it to anyone who asks) describing exactly what happened in financial terms.
