    Re: Dore USA Families Thread

Dr. Edward Hallowell in Massachusetts has just secured a licensing agreement with Mr. Wynford DORE to continue to run the DORE program at his center in Sudbury, Massachusetts.  This was a golden and easy opportunity for Mr. DORE to ensure that the pre-existing DORE families be accommodated.  He has completely ignored them in this process.  There is absolutely no reference to those families in Hallowell Center's glossy website selling this program to newcomers.  The fees apply indiscriminately to all who show up for DORE assessments.  This is a demonstration that Mr. DORE is a businessman first and foremost and continues to make money from the DORE program.

    Re: Dore USA Families Thread

Just out of curiosity and as an FYI for anyone interested, I called the Hallowell Center to inquire about pricing for this program. It costs $1,500 for the initial "two-hour" (according to Olga Soler, who is the contact person) assessment and $250 for each subsequent assessment (every 6-8 weeks). This program became available July 28, 2008, according to the web site. At least if Hallowell goes under one day, people would only be out what they had paid for, and I certainly would not pay ANYTHING in advance. If they insisted on all of the money for each evaluation days or weeks prior to the appointment, rather than the day of the appointment or AFTER services were rendered, I would probably run the other way. I also wondered, if MyDore is so effective and the way of the future, why is Hallowell utilizing the follow-up appointments at all? I thought they had been deemed unnecessary for the effectiveness of the program. Hmmm...

Wynford Dore - if you ever read these posts - we here at our house are still waiting to receive an apology for what we have been put through with the collapse of the program. Not just a statement of hope and hype, but some indication to the families here in the U.S. that indicates that you are actually sorry for putting us in the predicament that we now find ourselves in. You stood in front of us personally almost two years ago, and got us to believe that this would help our daughter. Nothing much has changed, and now we are out the money, and still wondering what to do to help our daughter.
