Fed up- What about intial assessments!

    Hi

Its been a month since I had my sons inital assessment cancelled.  Although we have a PID etc, 'My Dore' obviously is of no use as we haven't been prescribed exercises yet so dont have anything to keep us ticking over!  All the messages from Dore are about how to keep people already on the program going.  What about people like us who have parted with the fee and have been left high and dry?  I am anxious to have a program in place for the summer holidays (he brakes up next Thursday).

Jamie' Mum (Dyslexia, aged 9) totally fed up and frustrated, Coventry.

    Hi Jamie's mum

I'm Claire and my son Conor (10 yrs) has been on the programme since last July 07 and we attended the Kenilworth centre. I don't really know how Dore are dealing with people in your situation but I do get the impression they are going to try and sort something imminently. If you don't get a response from Dore let me know and maybe we can meet up and I might be able to give you some indicators. Conor has dyslexia and mild dyspraxia.

     Regards

    Claire

I'm also £500 down with the initial appointment cancelled an no answer to any emails, phone calls or anything.  I am totally fed up and want to take my son somewhere else, but with no money I cannot.  Simply put I feel robbed.    So much for the caring image they portray.  It means nothing if all they did was take my money and run.

Hi, I started this thread (Frustrated from coventry!)

Since I wrote a lot has happened.  Dore centre Kenilworth rang and made an appointment for Jamies assessment.  Weve been and is now on the program! Hang on in - they are getting to everyone but in chronological order and only at the Kenilworth centre.  Good luck

I have been asked to pass on the following message regarding first appointments for those in the UK:

Anyone in the UK who has paid for but not attended their Initial Assessment please email us at info@dore.co.uk

Please put "FIRST APPOINTMENT REQUEST" in the subject, and include your name, phone number, PID (if known) and original appointment date in the main message. We will then contact you to get an appointment booked.

Hi.  My son Toby (10 yrs) is new dore and me to Dore talk and I have just been reading through.  Like you we had our initial asessment cancelled which was on the day Dore closed its doors!!!  We got called back in July just before the summer hols began so we have been doing the programme for about 5 weeks now.  But the one thing that the girls at Kenilworth seemed very vague about was when we could expect to have appointments with them at the centre. I know the old dore people used to get to see someone every 8 weeks.. Are you any the wiser than I am.
