    Re: APPOINTMENT!

When our appointment is due Gillmi we will have to let it go, I priced the airfare from here to Birmingham and it would be too much for us. I would rather carry on with MyDore and wait until the new clinics come up locally hopefully Southampton will be one of them????

Kieran is only 7 months into Dore so no way he would be reaching the end yet and I do not think he is ready for his mentals either, so there is no real necessity for us to give him an assessment as yet. We will just bide our time and hope that more central clinics come up soon. Ellie XXX

    Re: APPOINTMENT!

Hi missellie - we are based in Northumberland so it would be quite a journey for us - we have not heard anything but like you we are only at the begining of the programme (behind you) so have plenty of time to get going. I'm hoping a local option will not be too far away.

That's great news kingfisher. Let us know how you get on. When should your last apointment have been? (just to give us an idea of how far through the list they are)

Should have been 30 May at 1.30 pm.

Will let you know how we do.  Seems to be a bit tricky getting there right now.  I though I might get the coach or train, but trains are a bit expensive and the coach doesn't go until the evening!!

How far is Coventry train station from the centre?  My best train would get to Coventry 10 minutes before my appointment.  Am I going to get there on time?

Kingfisher, I think Coventry is about 20 minutes drive from Dore.

    Hi Kingfisher

I live just outside Coventry and 10 mins is just a liitle too tight for the journey. If it wasn't such an important appointment I might advise to risk it.What time is your appointment?  I have a hospital appointment for my daughter in the morning in Birmingham and cou;ld possibly help out if the appointment was late afternoon.

    Regards

No not a thing and I'm not hopeful either, as we're been doing Dore more than 18 months Matthew's balance scores were really good, just his eyes needed anohter test, they will just move us onto wind when next apponitment is due (whenever that is?).

    Re: APPOINTMENT!

Well, we went for our appointment last Thursday and when we arrived at the centre I was lucky enough to walk straight into Wynford Dore!!  Not being one to miss an opportunity like that I managed to have quite a long talk with him.  It was very interesting for me as I had never seen him before and I know there are lots of people on here who tell us what a good person he is, but there are also some who think the opposite.  Also I really do like to form my own opinions rather than listening to other people.

So my opinion - nice guy!!!  Appeared to be quite happy to be cornered by me and quizzed about what had gone on and where we were going.  He  took the time to come into the room and look at my son's balance results.  He also signed a copy of his book for us to take home.

It has to be said that he could easily have walked away from the Programme when the company went bust, but he hasn't.  He doesn't need to be trying to push it forward for himself.  I liked him and think he deserves a lot of respect for continuing as he is.  He's obviously still working very hard to move the whole thing on.

So for anyone that's interested that's my opinion.

    Thanks for listening.

The assessment went well.  My son's balance scores were slightly down on last time but nothing too bad.  Most of the assessment I spent talking to Wynford and left my husband to it!!

PS Wynford also saw us walking past another door to the centre and called my son over and gave him a Dore umbrella as it was raining.  How kind is that!!!!

I had my 1st appointment today, well its my 3rd,however its my 1st since the company went into admin.

My balance scores have really improved and I have to now start putting in mental tasks.

Hopfully by the time of my next appoiment they would have open another assessment centre, however Kenilworth isn't to far from where I live.

Hello Macca.I'm thinking you're Macc's son so it is lovely to hear from you. Very well done with your wonderful results. I see you're starting the mentals. My 10 year old son,Conor, is on mentals. He  had dyslexia and dyspraxia. It's hard but worth the effort you are putting in. It shows that even with missed assessments that good results can happen when effort is put in. If you have any problems with the mentals then you can post Conor and he can let you know his thoughts.

    Thank-you for letting us know.

    Re: APPOINTMENT!

No, no connection with me, but well done Baby_macca and good luck on the mentals.  We're not there yet, but I understand from others that improvements will really start to kick in now.

Im having a problem with 'mydore'..Yesterday at my appoinment I was told that when I got home I would be able to genrate my new exercises from the results of yesterday's assesment, however when I click "create new exercises" my current exercises keep coming up and not my new ones..if that makes sence.

    Appreciate any help.
